Carlos Alcaraz has a very clear dream when it comes to his tennis career and that's to become one of the best players in history.

Whenever you opt to dream about becoming one of the best in history at something you clearly signal ambition. When you embrace it publicly you kind of ensure that you're going to get an odd look or two but in the case of Carlos Alcaraz, it's not unfathomable.

Mostly because his career so far has been following the trajectory of a player that might end up being one of the best in history. He's played 12 finals so far winning 9 of them. He is 3/3 in the ATP 1000 Masters final and 1/1 in the Grand Slam finals and all of that came before he turned 20. It will happen in two days' time on May 5th and Alcaraz might celebrate it with a 10th career trophy in Madrid.

"My dream in tennis right now is to become one of the best tennis players in history. I know that this is a big dream, [it] probably is too big. But in this world, you have to dream big and you have to think big, as well."

When you hear the above words you can't seriously doubt him. Not with the level he has shown so far in his career and the way he handled his breakout last year. There is no weakness in his game, his only tennis-related weakness might be his grass tennis so far but that's only temporary. He's equally dangerous on clay and on hard courts.

He embraces the biggest levels with ease and most importantly, he's willing to work hard for it. Guided by a former number one in Juan Carlos Ferrero, Alcaraz is in a great spot to truly become a huge part of tennis history. He knows what he wants and he's willing to work for it. That's more than enough for me.

I want to be part of the the best tennis players in history. And I will work for it.
