2024 Marrakech Open ATP Draw With Berrettini, Wawrinka, Sonego & More

by Zachary Wimer

The 2024 Marrakech Open is one of the first ATP 250 clay-court tournaments, and it will run from April 1st to 7th, with the draw already known.

The last time Matteo Berrettini stood on a tennis court was in Miami, and he barely remained standing during a long match against Andy Murray. He lost the match, but it was great seeing him back on the tennis court with his comeback continuing at the Marrakech Open.

Berrettini is not the top seed, which means that he doesn't have a first-round bye. He'll actually face Alexander Shevchenko in the first round, which is a pretty tricky matchup. Should he win that one, Berrettini will face either Jaume Munar or Luca Van Assche, two players of a similar profile, and neither will be easy.

The top seed is actually Laslo Djere. The Serbian is one of the more experienced players who has been playing for a long time and does really well on clay. He'll face either Hugo Gaston or a qualifier in the second round, as he has a first-round bye.

Stan Wawrinka will also be in Marrakech, and he'll start against Albert Ramos Vinolas, which is a pretty tough matchup. If he wins, and that's a big if, Wawrinka will play either Aziz Dougaz or Mariano Navone.

Some other interesting matchups include Flavio Cobolli taking on Abdullah Shelbayh. Both are rising players, who are looking for a strong result that would send them into main draws of top events regularly.

Another interesting matchup will be between Corentin Moutet and Sumit Nagal, who both need some points to improve their ranking. Be sure to see the full draw for the 2024 Marrakech Open below.
