Stefanos Tsitsipas has shared some of the difficulties of being away from his new romantic partner Paula Badosa when competing.

Tsitsipas and Badosa recently confirmed that they are in a relationship following months of rumours about the pair's connection. Since then, the duo have been inseparable on and off the court, with Badosa often attending the Greek player's matches, and the couple have also launched a joint Instagram channel.

However, when speaking to ESTO, Tsitsipas explained some of the challenges that come with being away from Badosa, but he also acknowledged that travel and time away will become the norm for the two players. The world number five is currently in Mexico for the Los Cabos Open it is the first time in a few months that he has been away from his new partner.

"I miss her a lot and I talk to her about it every day. We have a great connection between us. It's the first time in a long time that we're not together. Now I realize how much I miss her and how much she misses me too,"

"This is how reality will be if we continue together. This is going to be something frequent and something that we will have to normalize in our lives. I'm getting used to it. There will be more days like this and we are ready. We are mentally prepared for that."

Despite being a long distance away from Tsitsipas, Badosa read the interview and reacted to her new boyfriend's kind words on social media. The Spanish player posted a snippet of the article on Instagram with several heart emojis.

Currently, Badosa is out of action after she sustained a spinal stress fracture, which led to her withdrawal in the second round of Wimbledon. She and Tsitsipas were also scheduled to play in the mixed doubles event at the All England Club, but the duo had to withdraw.
