'They Are Going To Come For Me': Sinner Expecting Alcaraz & Djokovic Challenge After Success

Jannik Sinner might have dominated the ATP Tour in the first three months of the season, but he knows that he'll be hunted in the second quarter of 2024.

If you asked most tennis fans which player would likely dominate the first quarter of 2024, many would probably say either Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic. The Serbian would have been a popular pick because of his track record Down Under as one of the best Australian summer performers of all time.

Alcaraz has played tremendously during the Sunshine Double and the Golden Swing, so that's why he'd be the pick. Sinner would have likely been the third pick for many due to the way he finished 2023.

He was arguably the best player in the last few weeks, so many probably expected him to keep doing well. Very few would have expected him to do as well as he did because he's been the best player so far this year.

He won the Australian Open in pretty strong fashion and then added another trophy in Rotterdam. He added another one in Miami recently, and it's just been an amazing run for him.

He lost only one match, but he expects to lose a couple more in the future because he knows that the rest of the field will be coming for him. He talked about it on the Tennis Channel after lifting the Miami Open trophy, underlining the need to improve to be able to withstand what's coming for him.

"Well, we know that we have to improve couple of things and that's what hopefully it's gonna happen. I have to improve. The opponents are gonna come for me, they're gonna play freely, hit bigger and harder the balls so I have to be ready.  Also mentally I have to be ready."
