Liudmila Samsonova can play very good tennis and there's a reason why she's the world no. 13, but against Iga Swiatek she was left speechless.

The young Pole entered the third-round match at the 2023 Dubai Championships after losing seven games in her last four matches, and she didn't worsen her stats against Samsonova, she even improved it.

After losing two games in her last match against Leylah Fernandez, Swiatek stepped up her level even further and lost only one game in her victory against Samsonova to extend her winning streak to five matches now.

The world no. 1 dominated the match from start to finish. First, both players held their service games as the scoreboard showed 1-1 in the first set, but little did Samsonova know that that would be her last game won in the match.

Swiatek would then go on to win eleven consecutive games and destroy yet another opponent. This time, the three-time Grand Slam champion won 6-1, 6-0 in an hour and 17 minutes to set up quarterfinal clash with former world no. 1, Karolina Pliskova.
