The 2023 Ningbo Open will be held from September 25th to 30th, and the draw for the event was released.
In the past, the tournament in Ningbo has been held five times, but never as a WTA 250 tournament. This year, the event makes its debut, and fans will be happy to find out that Ons Jabeur took a late wild card to participate at the event.
The Tunisian wanted to use her chances in Guadalajara, but that didn't happen. She lost already in the third round, so it's not surprising that Jabeur took a wild card to the 2023 Ons Jabeur and became the top seed.
The 29-year-old will play against Diane Parry in the first round of the competition, and if she wins, the Tunisian will meet either Tamara Korpatsch or one of the qualifiers in the second round.
The following part of the draw is also very interesting. The seventh-seeded Katie Boulter will take on experienced Vera Zvonareva, who is also one of the wild card recipients and the winner of this match will play against either Elina Avanesyan or Clara Tauson in the second round.
Sorana Cirstea is the third seed in Ningbo, and the Romanian will start against Claire Liu in the first round, while the new doubles world no. 1, Katerina Siniakova, may await in the second round, as she's playing against one of the qualifiers.
On the other side of the draw, the second-seeded Petra Kvitova will start against one of the qualifiers, but in the second round, the veteran Czech could meet one of the two experienced players, Daria Saville or Yulia Putintseva.
