The 2022 Silicon Valley Classic will be played in San Jose from August 1st until 7th and it features an impressive draw with multiple Grand Slam champions.
After the tournament moved from Stanford to San Jose, Mihaela Buzarnescu, Saisai Zheng and Danielle Collins triumphed at the Silicon Valley Classic. However, none of them will add another title this year, as they are not present in the draw of the 2022 tournament.
That gives chance to some of the seeded players such as no. 1 Maria Sakkari. The Greek will start with a BYE and she will take on Shelby Rogers or 2019 US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu in the second round. Paula Badosa, who is the second-seeded in San Jose will start against home player Alison Riske or a qualifier in the second round.
Home fans will be rooting also for a recent Roland Garros finalist, Coco Gauff who will be the sixth-seeded. The teenager will start against Anhelina Kalinina and she can meet 4-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka in the second round. The player from Japan plays against Qinwen Zheng in the first round.
