Holger Rune showed his undeniable qualities in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Munich Open, thrashing Emil Ruusuvuori in two sets.

After the 2022 Munich Open, the young Dane may be able to earn enough points to climb the rankings and qualify for the Madrid Open's main draw the following year. This year, however, Rune was unable to directly enter the ATP Masters 1000 tournament's main draw and was forced to compete in the qualifying rounds.

Because the schedule clashed with the tournament he currently participates in, he was forced to withdraw from the Madrid Open. Playing in the quarter-finals of the ATP 250 tournament was a huge chance for him, and he didn't want to miss out on it.

In the quarter-finals of the 2022 Munich Open, Rune faced another youngster - Emil Ruusuvuori. The young Dane showed that he deserves to play an ATP Masters 1000 tournament on clay, as he didn’t give his opponent a chance to do anything in this match, probably also venting his frustration from having to withdraw from the Madrid Open.

From the start of the match, Rune dictated the pace and finished it in less than an hour. After winning the first set 6-0 in just 27 minutes, he was on his way to delivering the second bagel to his opponent when he led 4-0 in the second set of play.

However, Ruusuvuori managed to win two games by holding his serve. Still, it wasn't enough to stop from the teenager, who was simply unstoppable, winning the match 6-0, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the 2022 Munich Open.

Up next, the Danish player will attempt to make it into the final, but home player will stand in his way, as he'll take on Oscar Otte, who defeated Alejandro Tabilo in his quarter-final match in two sets, 6-1, 7-6(1).
