WATCH: Humble Pegula Cleans Court Amidst Rain Delay in Miami

Miami Open witnessed a heartwarming moment in the midst of the quarterfinal clash between Jessica Pegula and Anastasia Potapova.

During an unexpected rain delay, Pegula showcased her down-to-earth nature. The American displayed humility and sportsmanship, earning admiration from fans and fellow players competing on the WTA Tour.

The highly anticipated quarterfinal match at the WTA 1000 event was postponed momentarily due to a sudden rainfall. As the crowd awaited the resumption of the match, Pegula took this opportunity to not only engage in friendly conversation with her Russian opponent but also to assist the ball kids in tidying up the court.

The tennis world has seen its fair share of sportsmanship on and off the court, but Jessica Pegula's actions went above and beyond the call of duty. Despite being the daughter of billionaires Terry and Kim Pegula, she demonstrated that humility and a strong work ethic have no boundaries.

Fans and spectators took to social media platforms to express their admiration and appreciation for the American's compassionate gesture. Many lauded her empathetic nature, highlighting the importance of humility and kindness, irrespective of one's financial status or fame.

Pegula eventually won the match to set up a semifinal clash with Elena Rybakina, who bested Martina Trevisan in the quarterfinals. The Kazakh is currently one of the best players on the WTA Tour, if not the best, and ahead of their clash, the American said:

"I don't mind playing her, at least in the past. Obviously she's picked up her level since then, so it'll be a tough test, especially after this match, just physically see how I feel. Hopefully I can recover in time. At least I have another day. I think she and Sabalenka are the ones to beat right now so it's going to be a great test and a deserved semi for a tournament like this."
