'Nothing Wrong With Her Forehand': Gauff Praised By Jabeur Ahead Of US Open

Coco Gauff has earned many praises ahead of the 2023 US Open, including from fellow colleague Ons Jabeur, who is happy about her improved career.

Gauff is a relatively well-known player on the WTA Tour and is quite respected as well. The same could be said for Ons Jabeur, who is probably one of the most popular players on Tour among her colleagues. Well, it was Ons Jabeur who showered Gauff with praise ahead of the US Open.

Praise was well deserved as the American recently produced some of her best tennis to win two big trophies. The Citi Open started it, and she finished the job at the Cincinnati Masters recently. It was impressive to see, and Jabeur is happy for Gauff.

Very happy for her that she won in Cincinnati. I don't think a lot of thing changed in her tennis. Everybody always have talked about her forehand. I don't see nothing wrong with her forehand. Just small things that she adapted as a tennis player.

Jabeur praises Gauff

Yes, the forehand, indeed, has been a sore spot for a while. There are things that could be improved, but it worked well enough in recent weeks. It shows how good Gauff is when she can use a 'busted' forehand to win big trophies.

She's a great athlete. I think maybe the attitude or mentality changed that maybe she believes more in herself during the matches. That's great. She got the help that she needed. I'm really happy for her. At least she's showing that she wants to change, wants to win, and that's really amazing.

The ultimate test will be at the US Open. How far can she go, and what could happen? The forehand will get worked on even more, and once it's a perfect shot, Rick Macci thinks she could dominate the Tour.
