Coco Gauff has revealed few details about her boyfriend, but a recent social media post indicates she might be ready to make their relationship more public.
Gauff is currently preparing for the 2025 season after a roller coaster 2024. She began this year by winning the ASB Classic in Auckland, beating Elina Svitolina in an entertaining three-set final.
However, the former US Open champion did not win a title for over nine months afterward. Despite solid results, such as reaching the semifinals at the Australian Open, French Open, Indian Wells Open, and Italian Open, she could not take the next step.
After her results took a more significant drop during the grass court and North American hard court swings, Gauff parted ways with coach Brad Gilbert and hired Matt Daly, who used to work with Denis Shapovalov, as his replacement.
That move revitalized Gauff's fortunes. She won the second WTA 1000 title of her career at the China Open in Beijing, dismantling Karolina Muchova in the final with a sublime performance from start to finish.
Gauff ended 2024 by securing the second-biggest career title at the WTA Finals. The final with Qinwen Zheng was one of the season's best matches, with the 20-year-old prevailing in a deciding set tiebreak.
After taking a week off, Gauff returned to train for the off-season. Her work to prepare for 2025 included some brutal fitness work that led to the world No. 3 confirming which she sport is glad not to be playing professionally.
Gauff might be the most active social media user on the WTA Tour, especially on Instagram. Due to her frequent posts on social media, fans get an insight into many aspects of the young star's life.
The WTA Finals champion also uses that platform to promote social causes she cares about. That connection with her fans and willingness to speak about important issues is part of why she was ranked as the most marketable tennis player in the world.
However, Gauff's relationship with her boyfriend is one area she has stayed mostly silent about, but she recently posted a mirror selfie on Instagram with a man whose face was blurred for privacy.
Although Gauff did not directly state it was a picture of her boyfriend, the American acknowledged the following reply from a fan, confirming that the selfie is of her and the partner she has not posted much about.
"Cuteee and the soft launchhhhhhhhhh."
Although Gauff has not publicly appeared with her boyfriend, she previously revealed some details about him. The 20-year-old told Time Magazine that having a partner who does not play tennis gives her a fresh perspective.
"This is my first real relationship. To just have someone to talk to who is not involved in tennis at all gives me a fresh perspective."
In March, Gauff told Vogue more details about him, including that he wants to be an actor and plays guitar.
"He’s a very nice guy. He’s in school now. He’s about to apply for music school. He wants to be an actor and he plays the guitar. He’s not from Delray. He’s actually from Atlanta."
