Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner proved in their quarterfinal match at the 2022 US Open that they are not just great players but also huge personalities.
Both players showed big respect for their opponent as they congratulated each other for an incredible effort to fight for more than 5 hours on the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Eventually, there could be only one winner and that was Carlos Alcaraz and after a painful loss, Jannik Sinner spoke about the match on social media, stating:
"I Ieft everything out there last night, but it wasn’t meant to be. The atmosphere and support was something special that I’ll never forget. This one hurts, but we get back to work and onto the next. Carlos Alcaraz, congrats, it was an incredible battle! Good luck for the rest of the tournament."
The 19-years-old Spaniard commented and hinted that he expects to have a great rivalry with the Italian in the future, as he responded:
"You deserved the win as well!! Many more to come, always good to play against you."
