WATCH: 'You Can't Do That': Tsitsipas Slammed For Trying To Distract Opponent

| by Alfredo Bassanelli

Stefanos Tsitsipas was once a fan favourite yet in recent years he saw his image tainted as fans grew tired of some of his shenanigans.

Tsitsipas was the darling of tennis when he famously beat Roger Federer years ago at the Australian Open. He was a beloved player on the ATP Tour whom many expected to do great things in the future. He did manage to do that albeit not as much as people thought but he also saw his image kind of take a hit due to various things.

Tennis pundits soured on Tsitsipas along the way with Rennae Stubbs finding herself criticising him more than once. Recently, the former player called on Tsitsipas to reconsider his coaching situation which doesn't seem to work that well lately.

He did reconsider it some two weeks earlier parting ways with Mark Philippoussis. The Australian helped him develop his game on grass, one part of his tennis that he struggled with in the past. He started to struggle this year again, suffering a few bad losses on the surface already and one of those was the loss in Halle to Jarry.

Stubbs found herself criticising Tsitsipas once more during that match calling him out for trying to distract his opponent while he was preparing to hit an overhead. It's not the first time we saw that on a tennis court as Iga Swiatek did it once as well causing heavy criticism from fans. She apologized immediately and we'll have to wait to see if Tsitsipas does the same.

There were some reactions to Stubb's post on social media as some fans pointed out that the Greek is just making himself more unlikeable with moves like that. Stubbs simply called him out on that refraining from any added criticism.

What is Stef doing here!!??? U can’t do that!!!
