It seems like Stefanos Tsitsipas is a pretty passionate tennis watcher, as the Greek fell from his chair while supporting his girlfriend Paula Badosa at the 2024 Qatar Open in Doha.
The Greek player is not in action this week, which is rather interesting as he generally played at the Rotterdam Open regularly. It's not like he's injured because he was recently in action in the Davis Cup for Greece, helping his country qualify for the next stage, where they'll play Serbia for a spot in the top level of the competition.
Even with all of that, Tsitsipas won't be in action this week, opting to spend time with his girlfriend. His return is not far, though, as he's set to appear in Mexico at the Los Cabos Open in the coming weeks, where he won a trophy last year.
Before all of that, he is in the Middle East with his girlfriend Badosa, who is based in Dubai. He watched her play at the Qatar Open, which knocked him out of his seat, quite literaly. The Spanish player was involved in a very competitive battle against Ashlyn Krueger and bested her in three sets.
The match started on Sunday but was postponed due to rain in the third set. The Spaniard would return on Monday and finish the match, but her boyfriend Tsitsipas stole the actual highlight of the match.
He was courtside watching her play and, in one moment, fell off his chair, causing laughter in her box. The angle doesn't show the moment well, but it's pretty clear that Tsitsipas fell off and that Badosa's team found it quite hilarious.
You can see that below, but ultimately, she wasn't distracted enough and was able to win the match. We'll see how long Tsitsipas remains in the Middle East before traveling for his return. He hasn't played any ATP Tour-level match since the Australian Open.
