Despite being forced to withdraw from the 2022 Wimbledon, where he could have won his 23rd Grand Slam title, Rafael Nadal showed the class of a champion when he was leaving the All England Club.

It must have been devastating for Rafael Nadal when he found out that he won't be able to participate in the semifinals of the 2022 Wimbledon to chase his third Wimbledon title and also 23rd Grand Slam title to make a gap between himself and Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer even bigger. And although he was leaving the tournament disappointed, the Spaniard found time to greet and thank every employee that was taking care of him during the two weeks he spent in the All England Club.

In the meantime, the 36-years-old Spaniard already landed in Barcelona and spoke to the press there.

"What hurts is that I couldn't compete in a privileged situation because I was playing well and in the semi-finals of a tournament as important as Wimbledon. In the end, there is nothing left but to look forward and have a positive attitude."

"You know what's up, but you always want to play and try to the end. I am a fairly calm person and I try to analyse things with perspective, looking for the logical and rational part."
