Sinner Details His Goals For Remainder Of Olympic 2024 Season

| by Zachary Wimer

Jannik Sinner has both short-term and long-term goals, which likely changed after his win at the 2024 Australian Open.

The Italian recently talked to Vogue, which is not a typical tennis magazine or a tennis magazine at all. It's a fashion publication, and it's an area Sinner dabbled with in the past. He's an ambassador for Gucci, which caused quite a commotion last year when he brought a Gucci out on the Wimbledon Centre Court.

As part of his ambassadorship, Sinner sat down with Vogue to talk about fashion and tennis. He spoke about his goals for the rest of 2024, which are two-fold. There are short-term goals, which are mostly to become stronger physically.

"We try obviously to get stronger, no? But not, like, big. Because I think my strength is the flexibility I have in my shots."

Tennis players are not overly muscular most of the time as they mostly rely on quickness and speed. That's a strength for Sinner, but his frame is a bit on the skinny side for a tennis player, which has been a concern in the past.

His endurance is excellent, but he could become a bit stronger to minimize the risk of injuries. When it comes to long-term goals for the Italian, it's about the big events. He wants to do well at the Grand Slams and the Olympics.

"Trying to be as competitive as possible in all Grand Slams, but mostly the Olympics."

His recent success has brought him a lot of joy but also a lot of pressure. He tries to see the positive in it because it keeps him going.

"This pressure, you have to take it in a positive way. You have to be kind with the pressure. You have to make friendship. If you hate this pressure, it’s the wrong spot for you, no?. The really good and positive thing of tennis is, you have this momentum. The momentum can be positive, happy. And can be negative when you lose. But you live in a momentum. In my mind, everything goes quite fast."
