'Series Is Not Real Life': Medvedev Reacts To Being Depicted As 'Villain' In Netflix Show

Daniil Medvedev took part in the second season of Netflix's Break Point, and he was painted as a bit of a villain, which in true Medvedev fashion doesn't bother him at all.

The first time we saw Break Point was early last year when the fans got to see the 2022 season behind the scenes, including Nick Kyrgios' Wimbledon run. The 2023 season was shown in the second season of Break Point, which fans got to see recently, and Medvedev was part of that.

From the previous year, we know that Netflix likes to cut the footage a certain way to create a narrative. Iga Swiatek spoke about the 'Hairgate' situation that arose from that show and how her psychologist caught criticism for no reason.

When it comes to Medvedev, he wasn't particularly surprised by how he was portrayed. He saw bits and pieces but didn't watch the full episode; however, he knows how it came off, as he was shown as a villain.

"I didn't watch the episode. I saw a little bit here and there. I'm still on social media. I didn't watch it and probably will not because I'll get frustrated probably (laughter)."

"I heard a little bit. I don't have much to say. That's how Netflix is, and that's why we see it, because it exaggerates things, it's usually hot and cold, there is no neutral."

Ultimately, Medvedev is not particularly bothered by it. Those people who know him know the real him, and that's what matters.

"People around me, people in the locker room, they know how I am, how I am on court, which can be tricky, how I am off court. I feel like I have a good relationship with mostly all of the tour. I don't have much to add because, yeah, series is not real life."

He's shown his personality many times in the media, so most people are aware of how he is, and he's a pretty interesting character. He's, pretty open and doesn't really hide it.
