Serena Williams supposedly skipped Centre Court ceremony after not being provided 5 Wimbledon cars

At the 2022 Wimbledon, the Centre Court celebrated 100 years and almost all of the champions were celebrated during the ceremony, except for Serena Williams.

Serena Williams was attempting to make a sensational comeback at the 2022 Wimbledon. However, the American lost already in the first round to Harmony Tan but it seemed that she planned to enjoy London for a few more days.

According to The Telegraph, the 23-time Grand Slam champion asked the Wimbledon officials to use the five courtesy cars provided by the tournament for the duration of the whole event. Usually, players receive one car during their participation of the tournament, but some top names, including Roger Federer, can be allocated up to five vehicles.

According to the source, Williams wanted a car for herself, her husband, sister, mother and her coach. But allegedly, her request to use the cars even after her exit from the tournament was denied, despite the Wimbledon spokesman stating:

“We have fulfilled every transport request we received.”

After the denied request, Serena Williams, a 7-time Wimbledon champion, was supposed to be presented alongside other champions on the Centre Court on Sunday. According to some sources, it appeared that the American went back home, but later that evening she was present at a concert in London and posted pictures from the British capital also on Tuesday. Williams or her agent are yet to comment on the whole situation.
