Rafael Nadal will make his Grand Slam return at next month's Australian Open, donning a vibrant blue outfit on Melbourne's blue turf.
Nadal's outfit for the Australian summer series has been revealed, with a distinct look at the Brisbane Internation - his first tournament of the season - before switching his gear at the Australian Open, which will have a historic Sunday start in 2024.
In Brisbane, where Nadal is making an uncustomary visit (just his second ever trip to Queensland state), he will wear a brightly-colored green t-shirt accentuated with white marks of his and Nike's logo appearing on the side of his chest.
Nadal will also wear green shorts and will complement his look by wearing his signature NikeCourt Zoom Vapor Cage 3 shoes, as reported by The Tennis Insider - and not the Cage 4 as indicated in the photos circulating online. These will be white, with a green outer sole and toe cap.
In Melbourne, where Nadal will use a protected ranking to play his first Grand Slam tournament since injuring his hip 12 months ago, he'll change things by wearing a sky blue t-shirt and shorts (the exact match shirt will be revealed soon) - one of Nadal's favorite colors, as revealed by The Tennis Insider.
Nadal will continue wearing his custom-made NikeCourt Cage 3 shoes with different colorways for the 2024 Australian Open. The Chatreuse-colored shoes have blue soles and are accentuated with the same color for the logos.
Nadal has not played competitively since losing in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open. He has undergone hip surgery and has confirmed that his tennis return will be at the ATP 250 event in Brisbane.
Contrary to initial murmurs about him playing until the Paris Olympics, his longtime ex-coach Toni Nadal has admitted that he has complete faith that his nephew will play the entire calendar year in 2024 and will contend for the big trophies.
