Novak Djokovic expressed his desire to travel to America to play at the US Open but also admitted that he can't do much anymore to make it happen.

The top-seeded, Novak Djokovic, was pressed about the issue of playing at the US Open during his Wimbledon press conference in light of the recent US government decision to prolong the restriction of entering the country if you are not vaccinated.

"As of today I am not allowed to enter the States under these circumstances. I am aware of that and that is an extra motivation to do well here, and hopefully I can have a very good tournament as I have done in the last three editions."

For Djokovic, it's a simple process. He will opt to wait and see if anything changes hoping for some rainbow to appear, but it's not likely. The US Government already confirmed it won't change its decision. The US Open also shut down any talks of any exemption.

"I will just have to wait and see. I would love to go to the States. But as of today that is not possible. There is not much I can do anymore. It is up to the US government to make a decision whether or not they allow the unvaccinated people to go in to the country."
