Nick Kyrgios rises 26 spots after Washington clean sweep in latest ATP Rankings

Nick Kyrgios made a significant move up the ATP Rankings after his victory at the 2022 Citi Open in Washington.

Kyrgios played a superb week of tennis, winning several matches across singles and doubles to lift both the singles and doubles trophies at the ATP 500 event in Washington.

The Australian player bested Yoshihito Nishioka in the final, securing his first trophy in three years. That run allowed him to jump in the rankings considerably, as he moved up to the World No. 37 position.

Kyrgios was one of the unlucky players who missed out on the points from Wimbledon as he reached the final. Currently, he's ranked 37th after he moved up by 26 places, with his points total showing 1,205.

However, if his points from Wimbledon counted, the Australian would be ranked in the Top 15. Still, he will be certainly happy about his move after winning the title in Washington.

However, he was not the only one who made moves. The Top 10 changed, as Jannik Sinner lost his pot, dropping down to the World No. 12 position, while Hubert Hurkacz moved back in, occupying the tenth place.

On top, Daniil Medvedev still leads as the World No. 1 player with 7,875 points, more than a thousand ahead of the second Alexander Zverev, who has 6,760 to his name.

Behind this duo that shares Russian roots is a Spanish duo, as Rafael Nadal is third with 5,620 points and Carlos Alcaraz fourth with 5,035 points.

Yoshihito Nishioka was the biggest mover of the week in the Top 100. The Japanese player took down some impressive opposition en route to a final in Washington, and he was rewarded with a 42-spot jump in the rankings, getting to the World No. 54 position with 852 points to his name.
