8 years after reaching his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios reached his maiden Grand Slam semifinal in the All England Club.

In his third Grand Slam quarterfinal, Nick Kyrgios took on Cristian Garin, who defeated his compatriot, Alex de Minaur, in the previous round. Despite losing 0-2 in the fourth-round match, Garin managed to come back and he wanted to do the same also in the quarterfinals as he didn't start well.

Although, Garin got the first break of the match, his opponent shifted gears and got the break back. Moreover, he added one more break and won the first set 6-4 in 38 minutes.

The second set lasted also 38 minutes and despite having numerous breakpoints, the Chilean couldn't break his opponent and Kyrgios made it 2-0 in the match after winning the set 6-3.

The third set was the closest one and Garin was the only player to have breakpoints in the set. However, it reached the tie-break and Garin was looking to extend the match as he led 5-3. But the series of 4 points guaranteed the Australian victory and also his first participation in the semifinals of a Grand Slam.
