Novak Djokovic made some very interesting comments at a recent press conference about an announcement he is set to make soon.
Djokovic had just beaten Lorenzo Musetti at the Monte-Carlo Masters moments before teasing the upcoming news that will certainly generate a lot of interest in the tennis world, particularly among the Serbian's dedicated fanbase.
At the same press conference, Djokovic was asked about when he orchestrated the crowd booing him during his contest with Musetti. Fans were divided on social media about whether this was a justified reaction to the crowd's actions.
Djokovic insists that he does not look for trouble when he steps on the court, and his reactions are a natural response to whatever is happening during his matches. His insight into that issue was certainly an interesting one.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion's remarks about an upcoming announcement at the same press conference were also fascinating. When asked about his recovery and nutrition plan, Djokovic hinted he would share some of that information soon.
“There is going to be different ways that I’m going to share that with everyone in the near future. But all I can say is that I have dedicated more than 15 years, a lot of attention to taking care of my body and my mind and it’s paying off. Still, at almost 37 years of age, I’m able to be No. 1 in the world and play at the highest level."
Djokovic then spoke of his pride in implementing his strategic long-term vision of being able to play as long as possible and continue winning trophies due to the work he has put in.
“I always kind of strategically had a long-term plan in my head to, you know, play as long as possible so I can give my career a better chance to win more, you know, titles and break records and the things that I have been doing actually the last four, five years. You know, I have arguably had the better part of my career post-30 than before 30."
The 10-time Australian Open then got more specific. Djokovic said that before releasing his autobiography, he plans to release a book that would be a continuation of his previous one about gluten-free eating.
“An autobiography will come. However, before the autobiography, there will be another book that I have already started writing independently, but I will probably need help with all that. It should be a continuation of the book 'Serve To Win', it will be about nutrition, recovery, training, so much more technical in nature."
