Novak Djokovic is chasing history at the 2023 Australian Open, as he can win his 10th title in Melbourne and equal Rafael Nadal's 22 majors.
Novak Djokovic's pursuit of the record books is something that has been a constant theme throughout his career. And as he reaches his 10th Australian Open final, the opportunity to win his 10th Australian Open title and 22nd Grand Slam title is something that has not gone unnoticed by former British tennis player Tim Henman.
After an impressive semifinal performance, Henman spoke to Eurosport about Djokovic's upcoming match and what he can achieve in it.
"I think there's a couple of numbers. Obviously, there's the tenth Australian Open title, there would be the scenario of getting back to number 1 in the rankings, but for me, the most important number is 22. That is very much what his career is about and he's given himself another opportunity."
Djokovic's ability to find a way to win, even when he is not playing his best, is something that has been a hallmark of his career. He has consistently been able to come through difficult matches and come out on top. This is something that has made him one of the greatest players of all time, and it is something that he showed also against Tommy Paul.
"I don't think it was necessarily the best match he's ever played, but it's about finding a way. And listening to him talk after the match, he just sounds very ready for whatever Tsitsipas can throw at him."
