The 2023 Australian Open is set to be an exciting tournament and Dunlop balls allocated to the event should make it even more exciting.

The new balls have been designed to be a little bit faster and lighter, at least according to observations made by John Millman.Nick Kyrgios, Taylor Fritz, and Hubert Hurkacz are also likely to benefit from the new balls as these players are known for their aggressive playstyle and their ability to hit powerful shots from the baseline.

After testing new Dunlop balls dedicated for the 2023 Australian Open, Millman shared his observations, stating:

“Having hit with the AO 2023 Dunlop balls the last week my general observation is they are light and quick, especially when new. Not the easiest to control initially even in the humid conditions where I am in Brisbane. NK, Hurkacz, Fritz all very dangerous this AO.”

Comparing those balls to ones used at this year's US Open, he said: "I think they feel a little lighter, especially when new. Unsure how they are wearing on the Melbourne courts but in Brisbane conducive to creating relatively quick conditions."
