Venus Williams will make her return to singles tennis at the 2022 Citi Open in Washington, and she revealed what kind of outfit she will be wearing at the event.

Venus Williams is mostly known as a superb tennis player; however, tennis is not her only passion, as she’s into fashion as well. Tennis, for most of its history, has been all about the sport; however, in recent times, it’s also become much more than that.

These days, outfits are a huge part of tennis, with players even having official reveals. Superstars like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal announce their outfits ahead of events, which creates quite a discussion on social media, so obviously, it’s become part of the sport.

For some, like Venus Williams, it’s always been a way to express herself, as the American has always had a keen interest in fashion. Her passion for fashion has translated into her launching her own line called Eleven by Venus Williams.

She’s now confirmed on social media that she’s going to be wearing one piece from that line at the upcoming Citi Open in Washington. It came after a fan asked her what her outfit would be for the event, and she confirmed it was a piece from her own line: a sky-blue tank top paired with a matching skirt.

Wearing her own clothing makes sense for the American legend because it’s a great way to promote her line, which some people might not be familiar with. It’s always been about expression for her, so this is her expression of herself both with her clothing line and then on the courts.

It’s likely to become a tradition for her as well because the whole point of having her own clothing line was likely to promote and express herself. She’s always had a distinct way of doing this, and this is just the latest avenue she’s taken in doing that.

Fans are hoping that, besides the fashion part, the tennis side of things improves as well for Williams, as she was not playing enough in recent weeks.
