Sabalenka credits last year's broken serve as turning point in career

Aryna Sabalenka seems to be marching towards her maiden grand slam trophy and he's pretty happy about it.

Sabalenka was always regarded as having major-winning potential, but she was unable to put the pieces together to win a prize. Last year, she hit a low point when she often committed double-digit double faults due to severe serve problems.

I don’t want to say this, but I’m super happy that this thing with my serve happened to me. Before I wouldn’t be really open for that. I would be like, you know what, my serve is fine, I don’t want to change anything. (But) actually, even when my serve was working, it wasn’t really right. I’m super happy that it’s happened to me.

The serve is back to working well and it starts there for her. If she's serving well, everything is more easier and she's playing better. The confidence is there as well as she was pretty happy about overcoming a slow start against Bencic.
