Raducanu To Make Shocking Return At Chinese Exhibition

Emma Raducanu is expected to return to action at the Chinese International Tennis Masters tournament exhibition event in June.

Raducanu has been sidelined since the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in April and the former US Open champion has had three separate surgeries, which have ruled her out of the 2023 Roland Garros. With the British player unlikely to feature at this season's Wimbledon too, she will hope to gain fitness at the International Tennis Masters tournament in China, which begins on June 22.

However, Raducanu will not be the only high-profile player in attendance at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center this summer. The likes of veteran Argentinian player Juan Martin del Potro, former world number one Marat Safin and Carlos Moya will also compete at the event.

Also, several Chinese male players will compete at the event including Li Zhe, He Yecong, Wang Xiaofei and Wang Fa. Although, the remainder of the women's single participants are yet to be revealed.

Raducanu is likely to be one of the biggest names in attendance at the Chinese exhibition competition as she steps up her recovery following a tumultuous start to 2023.

The 20-year-old has struggled with continuous injuries ever since her US Open victory in September 2021 and she reached a recent low in April this season when she dropped out of the WTA rankings top 100 after withdrawing from the Madrid Open.
