Kerber Set To Make Comeback At 2024 United Cup Alongside Zverev

Angelique Kerber has been out of tennis for a long time due to her pregnancy, but she'll make her comeback in 2024 at the United Cup alongside Alexander Zverev.

Kerber took time away from tennis last year after announcing her pregnancy, which went well, and she became a mother. The German always maintained her desire to return to tennis and put that plan into motion this year by slowly returning to practices, which are heating up as of recent reports.

The German has now set out a time and date for her return; it will be in early 2024 at the United Cup, where she'll play for Germany alongside Alexander Zverev. The event is going to be a huge one as we basically have all the names of the players and teams that are going to take part.

Zverev and Kerber are not the only names that will play for Germany, but they are by far the biggest names that we'll see at the event, with Kerber's return probably being the main talking point of the entire event.

It's been a while since she last played, as her last event was the 2022 Wimbledon, where she lost in the 3rd round. Since then, it's been mostly radio silence from Kerber.

It will be good to have her back, as she certainly has plenty of things to give to tennis. She'll join a growing list of mothers on the WTA Tour, and let's see if she can match some of the results players like Elina Svitolina, Tatjana Maria, and others have put together in recent years.

Her compatriot Maria is part of the German United Cup team so perhaps she can take some points from the veteran as to how to approach tennis while being an active tennis player. There will be a learning curve to it certainly.
