Iga Swiatek Ends 2023 Season With Most Singles Titles Won On WTA Tour

| by Evita Mueller

Iga Swiatek has had a pretty strong year overall, as she finished once more as the player with the most singles trophies among all players.

Iga Swiatek obviously had a brilliant campaign in 2022, winning multiple trophies and easily finishing ahead of the rest of the field in terms of trophies won. This year's campaign was pretty great as well but not as dominant as last year's, which means that her trophy total is less than last year's.

She finished last year with eight trophies in total, but this year's tally only stands at six. Emphasis on only because that mark is still by far the best on the WTA Tour among many other players, and most of them have had a better year than last year.

The competition was fierce for much of the year, but she still finished ahead of the pack. Some things need to be noted, though.

The tally didn't look that impressive a few months ago, but a sensational run on home soil in Warsaw made it look respectable. It was the 4th trophy she won in the season.

Then, at the China Open recently, Swiatek proved to everybody that she is still the best by beating everyone and winning the 5th trophy of the year. The final one came at the WTA Finals in Cancun just a few days ago.

She went undefeated at the event, beating Jessica Pegula in the final and winning her final and 6th trophy of the year. That's still a pretty good mark overall, as her closest competitor in the trophy department is Coco Gauff, who finished the year with four trophies.

After that, it's Aryna Sabalenka with three and a couple of players like Barbora Krejcikova, Katerina Siniakova, Jessica Pegula, and Elena Rybakina with two trophies. Nobody is even remotely close to her which shows how far ahead she still was.
