Danielle Collins is in the form of her life right now, and she has issued a clear statement to those who dislike her.
The American has won an extraordinary 11 matches in a row. Seven of those were during her stunning run to the title at the Miami Open, and the last four have been at the Charleston Open.
Collins has spoken in the past about being discouraged because of her college background. However, she has completely gotten over that and has become a very confident personality on the WTA Tour.
The American often plays with a fiery edge to her game, although her opponents sometimes do this as well. For instance, Ons Jabeur smashed her racket during her loss to Collins in Charleston a few days ago.
Some fans dislike Collins' personality, despite the superb tennis and maximum effort she brings to every match. But this does not bother Collins, who said she feels stereotypes about women are still a problem while talking to the Tennis Channel after beating Elise Mertens in Charleston.
"Some people outside the tennis get offended by how I compete and what I do, because I think we live in a world where there's a lot of stereotypes and that's not really like a political statement that's just the way it is."
Collins then followed this with a very blunt statement to those who criticize her for competing in the manner that she does, making it clear she will never change who she is.
"Sometimes when you have a big personality and competitive and fiery like I am it can rub people the wrong way. So you know I say to those people stay bothered, because I'm me, this is who I am and I'm not going to change for anybody."
Despite a minority disliking her, most in the tennis world admire Collins' authenticity. That approach has probably helped her go on her incredible winning run that has taken tennis by storm.
