After not playing since October 2021, Bianca Andreescu returned to tennis, and apparently, she's happy to be back on the WTA Tour.
The 2022 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix was the tournament where Bianca Andreescu made her comeback in the 2022 season. In an interview prior to the tournament, she admitted that she considered quitting tennis while she was away from the Tour.
It was a very difficult period for the Canadian, who won the 2019 US Open after beating Serena Williams in the final. However, seasons after that were not easy for Andreescu, who struggled with injuries as well as her mental health.
Now, she's back, and she played two very solid matches in Stuttgart. After winning the 2019 US Open and having a stunning end of the season that year, Andreescu is struggling to stay at the top of the WTA Rankings as she's currently ranked outside of the Top 100.
After battling through all the injuries, it looks like she might be finally back as she managed to play a very solid three-set match against Aryna Sabalenka on clay in Stuttgart.
After the tournament, Andreescu wanted to thank her fans that stick with her although she was away for so long, and she posted a tweet saying:
"I wanted to take some time to thank everyone who has stuck by me through the last couple of years (u know who u are), including all my fans. U have no idea how much it all means to me. I’m blessed to continue the journey God has given me and will never take it for granted. But wow, what a joy to be back competing again."
It's great to see the 2019 US Open joyful on the tennis court again, and all of her fans are probably hoping that she will be able to reproduce the previous success.
