The Bad Homburg Open is a WTA event that debuted in 2021 and will again have a strong field in 2022.
Angelique Kerber won the tournament's inaugural event on home soil, and she will return in 2022. Katerina Siniakova, the 2021 finalist, will also compete, but there will be many more intriguing names competing in the final event before Wimbledon.
There will be no Top 10 player in Bad Homburg as the top-seeded Daria Kasatkina will begin against Andrea Petkovic. In the other part of the draw, no. 2, Belinda Bencic will meet another German player, Sabine Lisicki who was one of the players hitting the most aces in her prime.
Former world number 1, Simona Halep will be also taking part at the event as she will meet last year's finalist, Katerina Siniakova in the first round. Last year's champion, Angelique Kerber will begin against Anastasia Gasanova on the home soil.
