The 2023 Eisenhower Cup is set to be one of the most exciting exhibition events of the tennis calendar, and the line-up just got even more star-studded.
Swiss stars Stan Wawrinka and Belinda Bencic have been confirmed as the final addition to the already impressive list of players. The one-day event will see some of the biggest names in tennis battle it out in mixed doubles tie-break tens format.
The teams already signed up for the event include the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas & Maria Sakkari, Cameron Norrie & Emma Raducanu, Iga Swiatek & Hubert Hurkacz, and Aryna Sabalenka & Taylor Fritz. The addition of the Swiss duo will surely make the event even more interesting as Bencic is the player who won the last two editions of a mixed event, the Hopman Cup.
Wawrinka is a three-time Grand Slam champion and has a reputation for being a good entertainer on the tennis court. He has also had previous success in doubles, winning an Olympic gold medal alongside Roger Federer in 2008.
Indian Wells Tennis Garden is a fitting venue for such a prestigious event, and the Eisenhower Cup promises to be a highlight of the tennis season, in which players will be fighting for a good cause as well as the $200,000 for champions.
