The match between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner was a spectacle as it featured one of the best passing shots of the tournament.
Djokovic has been virtually unbeatable at Wimbledon since 2018, winning the title each year at the All England Club after coming back from elbow surgery four years ago.
His most challenging path to winning a 21st major was expected to be the fast-rising Italian Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinal stage. However, due to his vast experience at this level, he was still favored to come through comfortably.
Sinner came out all guns blazing, taking two sets to love to lead in front of a shocked Centre Court crowd that began sensing an upset over the defending champion was in the making.
In one of the most remarkable comebacks of his illustrious career, Djokovic fought back to win in five sets. That was demonstrated by his late cameo when he passed Sinner with his traditional sliding backhand, and he fell elegantly on the court, drawing a standing ovation from the fans.
"This is how champions play. Over you, @DjokerNole."
The ridiculous nature in which he produced some of the shots suggested he was summoned to play his best tennis down the stretch to maintain his long unbeaten record on Centre Court, is nine years old.
Djokovic will play British lefty Cameron Norrie in the semifinal, with a likely final showdown against his friend Nick Kyrgios a possibility. For now, his focus will be on reaching another final and the chance to reduce his gap to Rafael Nadal in the Grand Slam tally.
The Spaniard still has two more Slams than Djokovic and remains in the tournament after a grueling five-set battle against Taylor Fritz. Nadal will play Kyrgios in the other semifinal. For now, you can take a closer look at Djokovic's moment of magic in the video below.
