WATCH: Alcaraz Booed At Wimbledon After Cheeky Remark To Crowd

| by Zachary Wimer

Carlos Alcaraz reached the 2024 Wimbledon Championships final by beating Daniil Medvedev, but the crowd booed him after he made an interesting comment after the match.

The Spaniard will contest the Wimbledon final on Sunday, but that's not the only thing many people in London will pay attention to on that day. Alcaraz himself will be watching the final of the UEFA European Championships, which will be played on the same day, with Spain and England clashing in that final.

After beating Medvedev in four sets in the semi-final, the Spaniard was asked about Sunday, and he cheekily said that Spanish people would have a good day on Sunday, implying that both Spain and likely himself would win the trophies.

That earned him some boos from the crowd, which he laughed at, correcting his assumption that he didn't say they were going to win, probably forgetting that he was addressing the rival camp.

"It's going to be a really good day for Spanish people as well with the EURO. I didn't say that Spain is going to win. I just said that it was going to be a really fun day."

It will be an exciting Sunday for Alcaraz. The first part of the day will see him contest his second Wimbledon final, followed by the football match at night. In 2021, Matteo Berrettini contested the Wimbledon final on a Sunday and then got to watch Italy later that day in the final of the UEFA European Championships.

Berrettini lost against Novak Djokovic in the final but saw Italy beat England. In the second semi-final match, Djokovic is the favorite, but also Lorenzo Musetti may make it to his major final. To do that, he will need to beat a seven-time champion in a match, which the young Spaniard will watch.

"Obviously, it's going to be a really difficult match.Lorenzo and Djokovic are playing great tennis. I'm going to watch the match and let's see who I'm playing against."
