Rafael Nadal withdraws from the 2022 Wimbledon due to an injury

Rafael Nadal will not be playing his semifinal match against Nick Kyrgios at the 2022 Wimbledon as the Spaniard was forced to withdraw due to an injury.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion was only two matches away from his 23rd title, but Rafael Nadal won't finish the 2022 Wimbledon in a way he would have imagined as an injury forced him to pull out of the tournament.

In his quarterfinal match against Taylor Fritz, the experienced Spaniard fought with an injury despite his team telling him to retire. Now, a few hours after the spectacular quarterfinal clash, Rafael Nadal announced that he will not be competing in the semifinals because of the abdominal tear.

"I have to pull out of the tournament. As everybody saw yesterday I have been suffering with the pain in the abdominal. I have a tear in the muscle. It doesn't make sense to play, injury will get worse."
