Rafael Nadal resumes training at his academy in preparation for Paris Masters

In order to get ready for the remaining competitions this year, Rafael Nadal has started training again at his academy.

The Spaniard's most recent appearance was at the Laver Cup, but it was just one match with Federer before his close friend retired from the sport. Since then, he has been working primarily from his home base in Mallorca, but as his return draws closer, things are growing more intense.

The 2022 ATP season started perfectly for Nadal, who has won the first two Grand Slam tournaments, and until the Wimbledon quarterfinal, he was undefeated on the major stage.

Yet, the 22-time Grand Slam champion was forced to withdraw from the Wimbledon Championship semi-final against Nick Kyrgios, and subsequently, his main rival Novak Djokovic won his 21st major at the tournament before Carlos Alcaraz triumphed at the US Open.

Now, after many weeks of struggles on and off the court, Nadal is preparing for one-last push, as he'll likely compete at two more tournaments, the 2022 Paris Masters and the ATP Finals, for which he qualified thanks to winning two Grand Slams.

It's been quite some time since fans got a chance to see the Spaniard on the court, as he last played at the US Open, losing in the fourth round of the tournament to Frances Tiafoe. Now, Nadal posted a photo of himself on the court with the caption:

"Hello, week of training and work."

The Spanish player now has a few more weeks to get to top form before competing again, as the Paris Masters will be held in the first week of November, which means in almost one month.

It will be important for Nadal to come healthy to the French capital, where he had so much success in the past, but not on the hard indoor court in Paris-Bercy, but on the clay courts at Roland Garros.
