Novak Djokovic celebrated his win over Ben Shelton at the 2023 US Open by using his celebration, and Patrick McEnroe added his thoughts to the occasion.

Djokovic and Shelton battled for close to three hours in New York, with the Serbian ultimately ending up as the victor. He marked the win by copying the celebration Shelton made famous at this year's US Open, which was interesting to see.

Djokovic doesn't generally celebrate wins in any particular way, so fans were curious why he did this time. Apparently, he liked it so much that he used it. The handshake was a rather cold one, even though Shelton didn't say anything special about the whole thing after the match.

Patrick McEnroe has seen a lot of handshakes in his life, and he added his thoughts on the whole matter.

People commenting on the conclusion of the Djokovic-Shelton match. So let me say a couple of things about it. First of all, I love Shelton's attitude. I love what he brings to the table. I love his exuberance. And I love that he came to play in that third set.

I also love what Djokovic did with the phone thing. I thought it was very funny. I thought it was also his way of sort of putting Shelton in his place as if to say, 'welcome to the big time.' Because let's be honest, Shelton had no chance to win the match.

The whole situation was very entertaining to Tennis Twitter particularly the handshake and a rather clear stare from Shelton during it. McEnroe loved that too admitting that this is something that today's tennis really needs.
