Novak Djokovic facing a ban from this year's US Open

The United States of America have no plans of changing its policy of not allowing individuals who are not vaccinated to enter it and that might be a problem for a 20-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic gambled with his tennis legacy earlier in the year when he opted for a very curious approach to entering Australia. It worked and he entered the country but then things went south for him. It resulted in him being deported from the country unable to play at the Australian Open. Nadal won it and in Paris, he changed tennis history forever.

He seems to be unwilling to change his stance on the vaccine and that means he will gamble with his tennis legacy some more. The Serbian is set to be banned from entering America this summer due to the fact that he is not vaccinated. There was a slight hope that the country would amend its policy toward unvaccinated individuals but it not going to happen.

US immigration last week dropped the requirement for all incoming passengers to return a negative Covid test before boarding an aeroplane but maintained the need for proof of vaccination to be presented on arrival. It doesn't seem likely to change so Djokovic won't be able to enter America.

At least not unvaccinated. Whether Nadal's recent tennis success prompts a shift in his thinking, well, only time will tell.
