Nick Kyrgios not part of Australia's Davis Cup team as he's "unavailable"

The way Nick Kyrgios currently plays would help Australia in the Davis Cup a lot but unfortunately for the team captain Lleyton Hewitt, the 27-years-old Australian won't join.

The 2022 Davis Cup group stage will be held from September 13th until 18th in four different cities and Australia will play in Hamburg alongside France, Germany and Belgium in a very difficult group.

The Australian team consists of their no. 1 Alex de Minaur and Thanasi Kokkinakis and also Wimbledon doubles champions Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell. However, Nick Kyrgios who was the Wimbledon finalist in singles and won the Australian Open in doubles alongside Kokkinakis isn't part of the team.

As the 27-years-old Australian hinted many times this season, he values his time with family and misses them when he's in Europe or North America. Therefore, he will try to use every opportunity to return to Australia and most probably that's what will happen also during the Davis Cup.

"It would have been great to have Nick in the team but unfortunately he was unavailable for this tie," Australia's Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt said in a statement.
