Jannik Sinner feels Novak Djokovic is very determined upon his return to Australia and he sees him as the favourite to win it all.
Djokovic winning it all in Australia is not uncommon as he won nine times so far and this year will give him the chance to go for the 10th and history. Sinner believes Djokovic is driven to succeed this time around because he should have had the opportunity to do it last year but was deported instead.
“I practised with Novak [on Friday] and he’s in shape," said Sinner about the Serbian. He added: "You can see that he wants to win and is determined. It’s very nice to have him back here in Australia and having him also at the Australian Open because I think he is one of the best players in the world, if not the best."
Djokovic chose to play in Adelaide prior to the Australian Open, which is unusual for him. However, he has previously had great success by playing a lesser event prior to a grand slam, so he may do it again. Sinner believes his chances are good:
"He will try to win every match he plays, every tournament he plays, but I think physically he is very, very good and moving very well. To win against him, you have to play your best tennis."
