Djokovic 'Plans To Play 2028 Olympic Games In Los Angeles' Says Coach

Novak Djokovic's coach said that the Serbian, apparently, wants to play at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Novak Djokovic just won his 24th Grand Slam trophy by beating Daniil Medvedev in the 2023 US Open final, and right now, anything seems possible. As Medvedev said during the trophy ceremony, it's pretty amazing that the Serbian is still around, and not only that, but also clearly outplaying everyone and still winning the biggest trophies.

The Olympics in Paris next year is a given, but according to Goran Ivanisevic, the Serbian wants to play in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles as well. Whether that's likely or not, it's not hard to imagine, considering that he's still one of the best on the ATP Tour with almost no signs of slowing down.

That question you have to ask him when he comes very soon. I don't think so. No, no, he's planning to play Olympic Games in Los Angeles. When is this, 2028? You know what's going in his head. It's like 24 hours something to achieve. So I don't think so.

While we're at it, he might even consider playing in Brisbane in 2032, but all jokes aside, it's pretty impressive what Djokovic has been able to do. He's not as physically imposing as he once was, as we've seen him experience physical issues more often than before, but his tennis is about as good as ever.

He produces good serves when he needs them, finds new ways to improve his game, and clinically dissects his opponents, which was crucial to beating Medvedev. After all, his serve and volley were very useful in making the Russian uncomfortable and contributed to his win.

His efforts in New York also saw him return to number one replacing Carlos Alcaraz, and he's likely to hold it for a while further extending his weeks spent as the number one record.
