"Definitely tamed me a lot" - Kyrgios on positive impact of girlfriend

Nick Kyrgios has seen his life turn around once he met Costeen Hatzi, who he's dated for more than a year now.

Kyrgios returned to tennis with a newfound passion to compete and it translated to the court wonderfully. Things started with a doubles trophy win at the Australian Open and it continued to get better from there. His biggest moment came at Wimbledon when he played in the final against Djokovic but ultimately he wasn't able to get the job done.

Not at all, I don't consider myself to be a bad boy in tennis. The media kind of painted that villainous type role very early in my career.

Kyrgios on shedding 'bad boy' image

Still fiery on the court, Kyrgios rejected the bad boy mantle a few times during the year. The media tried to play it up and he played it down repeatedly. Whether he was or wasn't one matters little right now.

His demeanour on the court is way more serious than it ever was and that's a glaring change from his previous year. The credit goes to Costeen Hatzi, who in his own words 'tamed him'.

Costeen has taken on the role of being a girlfriend and definitely tamed me a lot and supported me.
