Cameron Norrie has etched his name in the annals of British tennis history by securing the LTA Men's Singles Player of the Year Award for his 2022 season.

This accolade celebrates Norrie's remarkable 2022 season, where he reached new heights in his career and provided tennis fans with unforgettable moments on the court. Climbing the rankings to a career-best of world No. 8 in September, Norrie joined the elite group of British players who have made it to the top 10 in the Open Era.

But it was his captivating journey at Wimbledon that truly captured the hearts of fans and made headlines. Norrie's electrifying run to his first-ever Grand Slam semi-final made him really well-known among British fans.

The British No. 1's determination and skill were on full display as he battled past opponents like Pablo Andujar, Tommy Paul, and Steve Johnson. His five-set thriller against David Goffin in the quarter-finals, where he recovered from a 2-1 deficit, showcased his never-say-die attitude.

Even though his run ended at the hands of eventual champion Novak Djokovic, Norrie received a well-deserved standing ovation from the Centre Court crowd.

But Wimbledon was just one chapter in Norrie's impressive 2022 story. Earlier in the year, he claimed his first ATP title at the Delray Beach Open, triumphing over American favorites Sebastian Korda, Tommy Paul, and second seed Reilly Opelka en route to the championship.

This victory marked the beginning of a stellar year, with another ATP 250 singles title in Lyon, and two runner-up finishes in Los Cabos and Acapulco.

Norrie's patriotic spirit was evident as he represented Great Britain at the Davis Cup Finals group stages in Glasgow and competed at the prestigious Laver Cup in September for Team Europe. His dedication to the sport and country has earned him admiration from fans all over the country. After receiving the LTA Men's Singles Player of the Year award, Norrie expressed his gratitude, saying:

"The last year was quite the run for me, getting into the semi-final at Wimbledon - after winning Delray Beach and Lyon – was a big achievement in my career, and I'm looking forward to building on those performances as I continue into this year and beyond. Thanks to all the fans for their support."
