Jannik Sinner came up short once more against Novak Djokovic, losing to the Serbian in three sets at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
It was a very anticipated clash between Sinner and Djokovic at Wimbledon as we saw a very close and competitive match last year between the two. This one was competitive too, but it didn't go to five sets as their previous meeting, which was unfortunate for fans that were really excited about it. Sinner himself had high hopes of it but he didn't deliver on the court.
The match delivered plenty of drama through great rallies and ultimately a win for Djokovic who will contest his 5th consecutive Wimbledon final on Sunday. His rival will be Carlos Alcaraz, as he defeated Daniil Medvedev to advance to the final, and the Spaniard will try to do what Djokovic's previous four rivals didn't.
Djokovic and Alcaraz played some good matches in the past, and it will be a very exciting one. The Spaniard will try to defeat the best player in the world right, as that is how Sinner described Djokovic after the Serbian shattered his Wimbledon dream.
Obviously you know that you play against the best player in the world at the moment, especially on this surface. But, as I said, I don't think about this so much because I feel like you have to make your own decisions on the court. Obviously, if you think how big he is, you struggle.
His mental side is very strong, for sure. Especially, as I said before, the important moments, he knows exactly how to play them. He's not going to give you something. I also, as I said before, had some easy shots which I missed. I was up in the tiebreak, made a double-fault and a couple of rally misses. It's also not easy.
