2023 China Open Beijing ATP Prize Money & Points Overview

The China Open is one of the most prestigious ATP 500 tournaments on the calendar and forms a major part of the Asian swing this autumn.

This season, the ATP announced in advance plans to resume tennis tournaments in China, four years on since the last stop there, with the coronavirus pandemic forcing the Chinese government to close its borders from any incoming foreign travelers in that time.

However, this year, Chinese fans will brace themselves for quite a barnburner month with no fewer than four ATP tournaments and a handful from the women's side. The China Open is synonymous with bringing the best talent and the ATP's elite athletes down the years.

Players use this tournament to get into shape for the penultimate Masters of the season in Shanghai. The ATP 500 event will run from September 28th and spill over to October 4th, with the tournament stretching its budget from the last staging in 2019.

The star-studded lineup features nine of the world's Top 10 players with six-time former champion Novak Djokovic being the only man missing. World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz and World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev will be the tournament favorites, but the likes of Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Jannik Sinner will look to upset the apple cart.

There is a prize money pool of $3,633,875, slightly over $100,000 from four years ago. The winner of the event will take a sizable chunk of that. In addition to 500 ranking points, the Beijing champion will earn $679,550 which is a massive confidence boost ahead of the Shanghai Masters.

The vanquished finalist will still leave China's capital with over half of the winner's paycheck, which amounts to $365,640 and 300 points. Semifinalists will also make six figures, totaling $194,860 and 180 points.

Quarterfinals earn a pretty good sum too, $99,560, and 90 points that could potentially be crucial in the ATP Race for Turin and Jeddah. Those who win at least one match at the China Open will bank $53,145 and get 45 points.

Losing in the first round doesn't qualify for any ranking points, but players who do so will be compensated in monetary terms - $28,345 for their efforts. To see the full prize money and points distribution for the 2023 China Open, check it out below.
