Clay-court specialists will have the last chance to show their skills at the 2023 Chile Open, before heading to the United States for two ATP 1000 events.
The 2023 Chile Open, which is played in Santiago de Chile, is an ATP 250 tournament played from February 27th to March 5th. It's played on the clay courts of the Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica and it has a long tradition dating back to 1930.
In 2023, the draw includes many clay-court specialists and also a Grand Slam champion. Dominic Thiem, who won the 2020 US Open, received a wild card and he will start against another player, who plays with a wild card, home crowd favourite Cristian Garin.
Winner of this match will face one of the Argentinians in the draw, the third-seeded Sebastian Baez. The second-seeded Francisco Cerundolo will meet Tomas Martin Etcheverry or Fabio Fognini, and no. 4, Diego Schwartzman will start against Nicolas Jarry or Juan Pablo Varillas.
The first-seeded player at the tournament is Lorenzo Musetti and the Italian will want to show his top game against Jaume Munar or another home player, Alejandro Tabilo in the second round.
