Tennis returns to China and the 2023 Chengdu Open is one of the ATP 250 events, and the entry list suggests players are happy to come back.
Held from September 20th to 26th, the 2023 Chengdu Open will be played without the defending champion. Pablo Carreno Busta dropped out of the Top 100 as the Spaniard is struggling with injuries, making him unable to compete on the ATP Tour.
And with the absence of the previous three champions from the entry list, Bernard Tomic, Denis Istomin, and Karen Khachanov, it's clear that there will be a new champion crowned at the 2023 Chengdu Open, and the player's field fighting for the crown is really interesting.
Alexander Zverev has recently returned to his top form, and the German will want to prove that his previous results were not a fluke, and he'll get a chance to do that in Chengdu. Followed by the likes of Lorenzo Musetti, Grigor Dimitrov, and Alexander Bublik, there is a potential for many interesting matches in the Chinese city.
But there will be also many players from the midfield that will want to attack the title. One of them will be Daniel Evans, and Roberto Bautista Agut will want to forget previous health issues and return to his best.
Miomir Kecmanovic is also set to compete at the 2023 Chengdu Open, and Max Purcell joins him on the entry list as one of the players that should be seeded. To see the full entry list for the 2023 Chengdu Open, be sure to check it out below.
