US Open Ticket Prices Continue To Rise As Coco Gauff Makes The Final

| by Jake Davies

The buzz surrounding Coco Gauff's progress continues to reach greater heights as US Open ticket sales soar over the fortnight.

Coco Gauff has certainly been one of the major talking points this tournament, being the leading name for American tennis and now she'll be competing in her first US Open final, and second major final overall.

As soon as it was confirmed that Gauff would be in the showpiece final the demand for tickets have gone through the roof, with a 20% increase in ticket sales and a 40% rise in comparison to the 2022 edition of the US Open, according to StubHub.

Personalities like Gauff are essentially what is going to keep the sport in high demand in the years to come, so her success at this particular tournament is much-needed and can only be a good thing moving forward.

On top of that, the interest in the men's game has also drove some support and reason for optimism. The US Open Men's final this Sunday will be the best-selling match of the entire tournament thus far, and the prices continue to climb, with the nosebleed seats at the back of Arthur Ashe Stadium selling for over $700 on average, according to ticketing website StubHub.

There was plenty of question marks whether the next generation as well as the current generation would be able to encourage that much support and fanfare going forward, but those murmurs of concern seem to have disappeared, with the sport looking in a healthy place for a number of reasons.

Novak Djokovic will be looking to increase his Grand Slam total of 23 when he competes against former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev in the final. While on the women's side, Coco Gauff is set to come up against newly-crowned World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, both will be striving for a first US Open title to their name.
